Pet owners who book with small, independent groomers, and the groomers losing money to missed appointments.
What they do today
Texts, paper calendars, and hope. Reminders only happen when someone remembers to send them.

Where the evidence comes from

Seven places founders find problems, searched at once.

When you type a market, Rift searches these seven places for real customer complaints. You can also paste your own reviews, support messages, or a spreadsheet. Everything lands in one project and feeds one set of scored ideas.

How results are made

No black boxes, no invented numbers.

Rift is a research tool, so you deserve to know exactly how it reaches its conclusions, and what happens to anything you paste in.

Repeated problems, not one-off gripes

An idea only appears when several different people describe the same problem. One angry post is noise; eleven people saying the same thing is a pattern.

A score you can check

Every idea gets a 0–100 score from a fixed formula: how often the problem appears, how severe it sounds, and how consistent the complaints are. The same complaints always give the same score.

AI that shows its working

AI groups and summarises the complaints, and that's it. It never invents market sizes or statistics, and every conclusion links back to the complaints it came from.

Your data stays yours

Feedback you paste is private to your account and only used to build your results. Nothing is public unless you create a share link, and you can delete your account, and everything in it, at any time.

Why Rift?

A chat forgets. Rift keeps receipts.

Even with web search, a chat skims a few pages and forgets them. Rift builds a stored evidence base: real complaints, linked to their source, tracked over time.

Asking a chat AI for business ideas

  • Skims a few pages once, pastes a few links, forgets it all tomorrow
  • A different answer every time you ask
  • No dated history, so it can't tell if a problem is growing
  • Only answers while you're typing

Researching the same niche in Rift

  • Collects hundreds of complaints from 7 sources into one evidence base. Deduped, stored, and every quote linked to its source
  • A fixed 0–100 scoring formula. The same complaints always give the same score, with the breakdown in the open
  • Shows a pain trend from dated complaints, and says “Not enough data” instead of guessing
  • Watches your niche weekly and emails you when new complaints appear

Use ChatGPT to brainstorm. Use Rift when you want proof a problem is real before you build.

FAQ

Questions founders actually ask.

What Rift is, what the scores actually mean, and what it costs.

Do I need any experience with customer research?

No. Rift is built for first-time founders and side-project builders. If you can type a market you're curious about, you can use it. The full example shows exactly what you get back.

Where do the customer problems come from?

Type a market and the built-in finder collects complaints for you (the full list of places it searches is in the sources map). Or paste your own reviews, support messages, and things people tell you. Even 5 to 10 sentences is enough.

Can't I just use ChatGPT for this?

A chat skims a few pages and forgets them; Rift stores every complaint with its source and scores ideas with the same fixed formula every time. The comparison above has the full side-by-side.

Do the scores prove an idea will work?

No, and Rift never pretends they do. Scores are transparent sorting guides computed by a fixed formula, so the same data always gives the same score. Real validation means talking to real people.

Does the AI invent market statistics?

Never. Every conclusion is grounded in the complaints Rift collected or you provided. The AI only groups repeated problems and summarises them. The score itself is computed by Rift, not the AI.

Is my data private?

Your complaints and ideas live in your account and are only used to generate your results. Nothing is public unless you explicitly create a share link, and you can revoke a link at any time. You can also delete your account, and everything in it, whenever you like.

What does Rift cost?

There's a real Free plan — no credit card needed to sign up. Pro is £9/month and raises the limits for people running many market tests at once. See the pricing page for the full comparison.
